Sept. 2011 Fraters,
I hope everyone has enjoyed the rest of the summer post convention. Thanks again to Lou and Gloria Flacks and the rest of the convention committee for once again putting on yet another wonderful National Convention enabling us to renew old friendships and more importantly build new fraternal bonds. For the past several weeks the Supreme Officers and I have been hard at work in preparation for this year and at this point we are ready to go full steam ahead. In the coming days our Fraternal Government and the minutes from the national convention will be available online as well as mailed out to the chapters. Additionally the updated administration CD will be made available to each chapter as well. As I mentioned in my opening address I would like to utilize our website even more than in the past to allow for quicker delivery of events and happenings throughout the chapters. Please help me to keep it fresh by submitting timely updates. I hope to visit as many chapters as possible this year as well so the earlier you inform me of events the better I will be able to plan my schedule.

I am excited to announce that on August 30th Leonardo Ortega, PSD and Maurice Williams, PSD attended an activities fair at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy where they met with a group of prospective students who we hope will reactivate the Rho Chapter . Thanks to their efforts we have already been able to set up another event on campus and we are aiming for an induction ceremony to take place in late September. Details will be announced shortly and I encourage any fraters who are available to please join us for this special event.

It is also my privilege to announce that the Tau chapter has officially been reinstated as a recognized organization at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Heath Sciences. Congratulations to all of them on their efforts and I wish the chapter officers best of luck as they continue to advance the chapter.

I would also like to take this opportunity to update everyone on an event that has already started at the chapter level. The Epsilon Chapter has begun its fundraising efforts for this year's national charity the Lustgarten Foundation. On September 17th they will be participating in a 2 mile walk in Bridgewater, NJ where 100% of the funds raised go directly to pancreatic cancer research. If you would like to join the team or would like to make a donation you can do so online at the teams homepage. These walks are also being held throughout the country at various times so if any other chapters have started their efforts please let us know so we can help raise awareness for your group.

I want to remind everyone of a few important items to put on each chapters agenda's. Please remember that each chapter is required to submit an 990EZ IRS form by January 15th. I encourage chapters to do so as early as possible and send proof of acceptance to the Supreme Excheque. All undergraduate chapters are required to hold an anti-hazing program and send documentation to the Supreme Signare verifying attendance of at least 80% of their active membership. The Winter Convention will take place January 5th to 8th at the Marriot Sanibel Harbor. So far attendance looks like it will be high but remember to continue to promote attendance and more importantly register as early as possible. I hope to see many of you there as we honor the co recipients of the 2012 Jay L Pollock Supreme Undergraduate Award Katelyn Parson (Nu) and Taryn Merchant (Kappa). Also this year's 50/50 Raffle will be held in Sanibel so start planning how your chapter can increase ticket sales to make it even more successful than last year. Remember the more you sell the more Supreme will be able to subsidize expenses and continue to have such wonderful events.

Finally, to all those on the east coast affected by the recent historic events, an earthquake and a hurricane in the same week, I hope you and you loved ones are well on the road to recovery. To date I have not been informed of any major losses but if anybody is aware of one please contact me so that we can respond and aid if possible. Good Luck to the undergraduates as they begin their academic year and best wishes to the chapter officers on a productive year filled with peace, friendship and brotherly love.

Fraternally,
Stephen Imperato
